What is Stress?
What is stress? Stress is your body’s natural response to emotional and physical strain arising from a wide variety of situations. For many years people have wanted to know what are the symptoms of stress and how to relieve it, and the answer is never the same. Stress has always been misconceived as a negative experience in a persons life; however the truth is that stress can appear in positive and negative forms and can have a positive and negative impact on your life.
There are different types of stress which arise from a variety of circumstances. When faced with danger and fear, stress is what keeps you alert and focused; it acts as a defence mechanism. When stress works accordingly it can save your life; enabling you to immediately brake sharply to avoid an accident, give you that extra burst of energy to escape from harm and react immediately when faced with drastic situations.
Stress can spur on someones need to challenge oneself. This can occur in situations such as during an exam where your concentration heightens, during a presentation where your determination and focus rises, when you want to meet a deadline your need to succeed kicks in, or even deter distractions for example completing house chores when you would rather be doing something more ‘fun.’ Controlling your stress will allow you to be more successful when confronted with similar situations and it allows your life to be balanced. How to balance your life is a question most likely you want the answer to; having a balanced life and being at peace with yourself allows you to live a more comfortable and ‘easy going’ life.
Unfortunately everyone’s toleration of stress varies dramatically and it can get out of control. There is no permanent fix to stress issues, and sometimes it is unavoidable however relieving stress by using successful methods will reduce the impact it has on you. If stress is left to its own device and it is not confronted or reduced then it can have a dramatic effect on your health, your emotions, your relationships and your productivity, therefore leading a person to lead an unhappy life.
Throughout many of these articles focused on stress relief they will go through how you can be the master of your own stress, rather than stress being your master. It is just a matter of reading and trying them out for yourself.
